FRONTLINE is the premier news and public affairs documentary series on television. The winner of every major award for broadcast journalism, FRONTLINE tells the stories other media can’t and won’t touch. While serving as FRONTLINE’s Communications Manager, Erin was responsible for the publicity and promotion of more than twenty distinct films each broadcast season. During her tenure with the series she promoted more than 100 films ranging from “The Lost Children of Rockdale County” to “Beyond Baghdad.” Topics Erin has promoted include: the search for weapons of mass destruction, the history of terrorism against the U.S., the future of the U.S. military, genocide in Rwanda, the Clinton years, education reform, marketing to teenagers, foster care in America, the war on drugs, the 2000 and 2004 presidential campaigns, and many others. In addition to securing television reviews in the arts sections of major newspapers, Erin also worked to place op-ed pieces, secure editorials, book television and radio appearances, and generate news stories about FRONTLINE’s reporting. She also served as chief communications advisor to FRONTLINE’s senior management at times of “crisis”—most notably during a highly controversial bid to film jury deliberations in a Texas death penalty case.

Smiling Kids, Inc. is a young charity that provides birthday gifts to children and teens who might not otherwise receive them. emkpr designed a local campaign to publicly launch the charity and secured coverage in The Boston Sunday Globe, the MetroWest Daily News, Bay State Parent, and the Wayland Town Crier. To the surprise of the organization's president and co-founder, the charity received a number of unsolicited donations that were a direct result of the press coverage. In 2005, Smiling Kids expects to provide nearly 1,000 birthday gifts. In the coming months, emkpr will be working to roll out a new "party with a purpose" initiative designed to introduce children to the concept of charitable giving.

One Man’s Journey
is a three-part documentary produced and directed by explorer/filmmaker Robert Perkins. Eighteen years in the making, the film chronicles Perkins’s adventures in the Canadian Arctic and Southern Africa. “One Man’s Journey” aired nationally on PBS in January 2005. With almost no budget for publicity, Erin designed a press kit using screen grabs and still photography the filmmaker had on hand and distributed the materials electronically. She secured placement of a promotional postcard in some 46 Barnes & Noble stores around the country. The take away rate on the postcard averaged eighty-seven percent nationally. While Erin worked to secure reviews in the 40 markets airing the film, she is most proud of the review she scored in The New York Times.
